Christina Shaheen holds a BA in human biology from Stanford University and an MA in medical anthropology from Oxford University (2005). At Stanford, Christina conducted ethnographic fieldwork on local women's participation in an ecotourism lodge in the Peruvian Amazon. She interned in the Women's Rights Division of Human Rights Watch in New York, worked on a community-based organic farm in Italy, and helped develop a disaster preparation book in response to the global threat of Avian influenza. Recently, Christina was a project manager for A World Without Armies, a research assistant to former State and Defense Department official Daniel Ellsberg, and an interim producer at a National Public Radio affiliate in San Francisco.
