BI System Reorganization and Upgrade
We are in the process of completing a major upgrade of the software platform underlying the Beyond Intractability website. This upgrade, which we have been working on for almost a year, will give us a much more secure and powerful system — one that will enable us to continue to offer Beyond Intractability as a free service for the indefinite future. The new system includes all the original BI content (with the original URLs) as well as a variety of new features, including major improvements to the home page for our BI/Substack Newsletter and our collection of Colleague, News, and Opinion Links.
The biggest improvement, however, is the addition of a new Constructive Conflict Resource Guide which is reorganizing over 3000 BI resources around our "massively parallel" framework for more constructively addressing the many problems associated with intractable conflict, hyper-polarization, and the decline of democratic norms and institutions. While this system now contains an enormous amount of useful information, it is not yet complete. There are numerous gaps which we are in the process of filling, as well as new updates to add as events unfold. We also have not yet carefully ordered or prioritized all the resources in the guide. While some topics have nothing listed yet, other topics have 20 or even 30 listings. Rather than cutting some, at this point we are leaving everything in, but are trying to mark the most important items with stars, indicating that these are the things we recommend you read first. This too, however, is a task not yet finished.
We ask for your patience as we work to complete aspects of the system. Still, we hope that you will agree that there is a lot here, and what we now have is a major improvement over the previous system. If you have suggestions of things we need to fix. please let us know!
