Option A: Hold Your Ground
Sometimes holding your ground makes sense.
If the issue is one of high importance to you and:
- If you are fairly sure you can prevail without doing too much damage to the long-term relationship, or
- If you do not care about the long-term relationship.
If you usually give in, learning to hold your ground politely, but firmly, can be useful.
But...
Consider what is likely to happen if you hold firm:
Is the other person likely to give in?
