Welcome to the New Beyond Intractability
We have just completed a major reorganization and upgrade of the BI system — an upgrade that includes the addition of a new Constructive Conflict Guide which organizes BI resources around a comprehensive framework for thinking about conflict problems and identifying realistic things that can be done to limit or even solve those problems. The new system also continues to provide access to all prior BI content (at the original URLS) plus a version of our "classic" homepage.

7. Massively Parallel Roles & Tasks

The fundamental idea behind massively parallel peacebuilding (and mp problem-solving and mp democracy building) is that the problems we face in any of these domains are so large and complex that it takes 1000s of people and organizations working on different aspects of the overall challenge to make a significant difference. We have (so far) identified over 50 different roles which are needed to successfully build peace and strengthen democracies. The links below explain what these roles are.
